Malaysia Trip Part I - Kuala Lumpur

so i got this buddy aaron who ive been close friends with for a long time. about 3 years ago he quit his job, sold all his stuff, and left to travel the world for a year. well its been three years now and hes still living all over the world (and if you want to do the same, check out his blog)! late last year i hatched this idea to go visit him wherever he happened to be, which for the last 4 months has been kuala lumpur, malaysia. i started making plans, and mentioned my plans to our other buddy chris, and he decided to tag along. then just weeks before leaving, i mention to my cousin juice what we were doing, and it happened to fit perfectly with his job transition, so he joins in too... next thing ya know we got a full on guys trip ready to happen!

kuala lumpur (kl) is the capital of malaysia. it is very culturally diverse, with its 3 main ethnic groups being malay, chinese, and indian. although the official religion of malaysia is islam... buddhism, hinduism, and christianity are all major religions in malaysia and kl. all of this together makes kl so interesting in its people, culture, and food.

our first meal in kl at vcr, before heading out to explore. food is CHEAP in malaysia, a typical entree with coffee at a nice breakfast place will run about $5usd. that will barely get you coffee in the states! we also got to meet aarons rachel, who turned out not only awesome, but so helpful throughout the trip!

in the central market was a spa called cute little fish, where you put your feet in water and little fish eat the dead skin off... so weird!!!

pavillion mall in bukit bintang. the malls in kl are massive and overwhelming, and they dont skimp on the chinese new year decor either

the petronas twin towers were once the tallest buildings in the world until taipei 101 was completed in 2004. they are now the tallest twin towers in the world. seeing them in photos in one thing, but you gotta see them in person to appreciate the size of these things, really astonishing
