this trip was more than an adventure, but a learning experience for us. there were times when i questioned whether this was a big mistake. when we were at notre dame in paris, aiden had a total breakdown and would not stop crying for over an hour straight. and another morning we woke aiden up to head out for the day and he just started crying and yelling NOOO NOOO NOOOOOO! it was tough and we debated just staying in the hotel some days to let him rest. it really made me think we were terrible parents for dragging this kid to foreign countries for 14 days!
overall, aiden was a trooper and did very well. looking back there are probably a few things we might have done differently, but that is all part of it. in general, having kids is definitely tiring and lots of work... just getting out the door can be a challenge. it makes it really easy to stay home and rest, but nanci and i dont let that get in the way of doing the things we dream of. we plan to go on another trip sooner than later! much thanks to our friends the delarosa, the malik, and the sherman families, who gave us so many travel tips and really inspired this whole trip! another big thanks to the taleon family, juice, claire, danny, tamara and scott, for spending time with us and making the trip so much more fun! plus aiden LOVED hanging out with olivia, i think he was so excited to be with someone his own size! also gotta give a shoutout to our awesome travel agent KATIE!
aiden, hopefully when youre older you can watch this and know you had a great time on your first international trip! many more to come, cheers!!!

I like how there was a magical sound and you put a clip of the Eilffel tower at night time lapse.
That was amazing!! We're going on a Disney cruise this year and watching this inspires me! Thanks! - Jamie
ReplyDeleteI am happy you had such a great time. And that regardless the little difficulties, you are not discouraged to continue traveling with a little one. We have been traveling with them since they were babies and they are now perfect travelers. And the meltdowns are the same whether you are in the Notre Dame or in Ralphs, so don't worry and keep on traveling! Thank you for sharing the pictures and videos. They are awesome! See you soon!. Jossy & Co.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jossy, you guys inspired us! It was so great talking to all of you to learn from your experiences. When you said that you took both of them to Spain by yourself at 3 yrs old and 3 months old, I said WE CAN DO THIS! :) ~Nanci
DeleteWOW!! That was awesome!!!! Looking forward for more of YOUR trips:) Take care
ReplyDeleteThis is the coolest vacation video I've ever seen. So professional. What program do you edit all your videos?
