the first week of our summer trip was spent in the south of france, also known as the french riviera, or cote d'azur. we used nice as our home base, and took the trains to explore the surrounding towns.

first of many outdoor markets. so many fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, etc.

first of many macaron stops

view from the top of old town, nice

eze may have been my favorite town in the south of france. a mideival village built on a hillside

the exotic garden at the top of eze is beautiful, but the plants arent so exotic if you're from southern california

spent an afternoon at the beach in menten, a town very close to the italian border

visited cannes, famous for the cannes film festival

saw a couple celebrities on the red carpet!

visited monaco, the second smallest sovereign city/state after vatican city. one of the wealthiest countries in the world, about 1/3 of the population are millionaries. so.... we just visited the aquarium haha

had to at least stop by and check out james bond's hangout, the monte carlo casino

spent a day exploring antibes old town

ended our day in antibes snorkeling

off to
paris!
