tokyo has two disney resorts, disneyland tokyo and tokyo disneysea. we chose to visit tokyo disneysea since it is completely unique to tokyo, whereas tokyo disneyland was modeled after disneyland and disneyworld in the states... so it had pretty much the same small world, the same space mountain, etc that we have back home... although im sure it had plenty of unique touches to it. tokyo disneysea has an overall nautical theme to it, with different "ports" used as the separate themed areas in the park.

the first port you enter is mediterranean harbor, resembling an italian city, complete with venetian gondolas
across the harbor is mysterious island, a jules verne based port built inside a volcano which serves as the centerpiece of the park

we rode this 20,000 leagues under the sea ride, reminded me of a darker version of the disneyland submarines

the indoor portion of mermaid lagoon, we spent a lot of time in here not only because it was the most kid friendly, but it was really chilly outside

also here was tokyos pirates of the carribean ride, which we skipped. we did go on this sinbad storybook voyage, which was very similar to its a small world

inside stormrider, which was a smiuator ride very similar to soarin over califoria, but instead you go through a storm
this aquatopia ride was fun, basically autopia on water
american waterfront, modeled after a port in the eastern united states

ive never been to venice, but something tells me their gondola guys dont look like this?
i skipped one port, the lost river delta, which had an indiana jones ride that we didnt try to go one because the kids couldnt ride... but other than that thats pretty much the entire resort! it was small, quite smaller than california adventure in anaheim, but it was still fun and really interesting seeing the japanese take on a disney resort. the whole nautical theme was interesting to see too, and i actually read that this whole concept was originally supposed to be created in long beach, with the queen mary as one of the main attractions... but it fell through and years later was done here in japan.
