because we were at a disney affiliated hotel, we were able to get into the park an hour early for "magic hours" which started at 7am. doors didnt open to the general public until 8am. we definitely took advantage of this because it was new years eve so we knew the crowds would be crazy. they were already crazy when we arrived at 7am!
the gang up bright and early (except nelson who lagged and missed the shuttle) aiden wasnt too happy with the early arrival either

walt and mickey

sleeping beautys castle, slightly different than the one back home

again we tried to do mainly stuff that we dont have at disneyland in anaheim. but even the stuff we did have at home was quite different in orlando. its a small world was indoors

so was the mad tea party

tomorrowland speedway was pretty much the same as autopia

,
aladdin was one of my favorite movies, so it was cool that part of the park was themed after it

storybook circus was also very cool

and also the perfect place for their dumbo ride. its hard to see in this photo, but they actually have two dumbo rides, you can kinda seem them at the bottom right and bottom left

we went on a handful of other rides that i didnt take photos of. we were a little too ambitious thinking that we could make it from 7am all the way til midnight for the countdown. we were tired, it rained on and off, and it was insanely crowded... so we ended up heading home mid afternoon

new years day we took a break from the parks and hung out at downtown disney

our hotel was actually just outside downtown disney, which we thought would be convenient since in anaheim you have walking access to both disney parks from downtown. however the orlando parks are very spread out... it was a 45min shuttle ride to every park, which was tough.
our last day was spent at epcot. i got a lot of mixed reviews on epcot, but we liked it just as much as the other parks... it may have actually been my favorite

once again the barreras were the first ones out and about, everyone else followed

innoventions had a lot of cool (and educational) activities for the kids, aiden and ava had a lot of fun in there

the chevy test track was really awesome. the format of the ride is almost identical to the cars ride in anaheim, but themes totally different. you design your own car on a screen, then you get in the car you created and test all the features you put in, and finally do the speed test at the end. really cool ride!

hanging out outside test track

the group in front of spaceship earth

spaceship earth is the most iconic landmark in epcot, yet i never really knew what it was. it was basically a people mover type of ride that takes you through scenes of human civilization throughout time.

the seas with nemo and friends was also a people mover type ride, but took you through scenes from below the sea with animations from finding nemo... very similar to our submarine ride.

captain eo!!! brought back so many memories!

the world showcase was definitely the most awesome part of epcot. surrounding a giant lake were replicas of different cities around the world. each area featured architecture, staff, food, and beer all authentic to the areas theme. if i lived near here it would be so cool to come to epcot just to eat at a different country each time
canada

these boats can take you across the lake to different areas, looks exactly like the boats we cruised on in paris and amsterdam

a few final shots as our last day came to an end

that about wraps it up for this trip. it was tiring, but tons of fun. i took a lot of video and will hopefully one day get a chance to put some footage together. closing this post with a huge shoutout to our vacation sponsor, thanks mom for this awesome trip we love you!!!
